Terms of use
The rules for using MySeaBase, in plain words.
These terms apply to the MySeaBase app and this website. By using the app you agree to them. How we handle personal data is in the privacy policy.

The service
MySeaBase is an online app for running a boat: logbook and passages, money, maintenance, inventory, documents, crew, guests, charter and more. It is provided by MySeaBase. To reach us, use the contact link on this page; a contact email address will be published here.
What a boat can use depends on its plan and on the modules switched on for it.
Accounts and roles
A boat's admin (usually the captain) creates the users and gives each a role: admin, owner or crew. Each person signs in with their own account and keeps their password and two-step login to themselves.
The boat is responsible for who it lets in and for what its users enter. Tell us at once if you think an account has been misused.
Your data stays yours
Everything a boat enters belongs to the boat. We use it only to run the service for the boat. You can export it from the app, and on request we hand over a full copy of the boat's data. When you leave, we delete it on request.
Acceptable use
Do not use MySeaBase to break the law, to store content you have no right to keep, or to harm others. Do not try to reach another boat's data, overload the service, or get around the limits of your plan. Enter personal data about crew and guests only where you are allowed to.
Found a security problem? Tell us instead of testing further. We may suspend a boat that breaks these rules or puts the service or other boats at risk, and we will tell you why.
Plans and billing
Plans are sold per boat per year and billed by an annual invoice, in euros and excluding VAT: Crew 990 EUR, Owner 2,490 EUR, Private Fleet from 4,900 EUR (see pricing). Extra storage is 10 GB for 99 EUR a year. There are no monthly plans.
A paid year covers the period on its invoice. If it ends without a new paid invoice, the boat keeps working for a grace period (normally 30 days) and then becomes read-only: nothing is deleted, and paying the invoice opens it again.
Free trial
30 days, free, with no card. Nothing is billed and nothing renews by itself. On day 31 the boat becomes read-only: every record stays, the owner can still read and export it, and choosing a plan opens it again. We can extend a trial.
One trial per email address. An owner or a manager starts with the Owner plan's modules, a captain with the daily-use set of the Crew plan; the trial has 1 GB of storage.
Referrals
Every customer boat has a referral code. A boat that signs up with a code gets 10% off its first invoice (plan plus add-ons, before VAT). The referrer earns 10% of what that boat paid on its first invoice (before VAT, after its discount), once that invoice is paid.
A referring boat gets this as credit on its own next invoice, never as cash. A partner or captain is paid by hand. Each boat has one referrer, and a boat cannot refer itself.
Availability
We work to keep MySeaBase running and backed up every night, on a best-effort basis: we do not promise a set uptime and there is no service level agreement. We may pause the service for maintenance. Many tasks keep working offline and sync when the connection returns.
A record-keeping tool
MySeaBase keeps records. It is not a navigation or safety-critical system. Passages are for planning and logging, not a chart plotter: navigate with official charts and your instruments.
Safety checklists, drills and reports help you keep records; they do not replace the duties that the law, your flag or your safety management system place on the owner, the master and the crew. Reminders and alerts are a help, not a guarantee: you remain responsible for maintenance, certificates and deadlines.
Liability
Where the law allows, our total liability for any claim is limited to the fees the boat paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited.
Changes
We may change these terms. Before an important change takes effect we tell the boat's admins, and we publish the new version here with its date. If you do not agree, you can stop using MySeaBase and take your data with you.
Ending
You can stop at any time by not renewing. We can stop serving a boat at the end of its paid period, or earlier if these terms are seriously broken. Either way the boat can export its data first, and we delete it on request.
