Security and privacy
Your boat's records stay yours, and stay private.
Owners trust us with money, guests and crew. This page says exactly where that data lives, who can see it, how it is protected and how you take it with you.
Where it lives
On our own server in a Hetzner data centre in Helsinki, Finland, inside the EU. Every connection is encrypted (HTTPS). The server only accepts traffic that comes through Cloudflare's network, so it is never exposed directly.
Each boat on its own
Every boat has its own separate database. One boat's records are never stored next to another's, and a fleet account sees a boat only after we link it on purpose.
Who sees what
Each person has a role: owner, admin (usually the captain) or crew. Owner-only guest notes and crew pay stay with the people who should see them. The owner approves spending; crew see what they need to work.
Signing in
Passwords are stored only as strong one-way hashes, never readable. Two-step login with an authenticator app is available to everyone and can be required for owners and admins. Repeated wrong attempts lock the account for a while.
"Remember this device" lasts 14 days at most and can be revoked at any time. An admin can disable a person in one tap: their sessions end at once.
Every change on record
Edits keep their history, deleted entries can be restored, and important actions are written to an audit log with who did what and when.
Backups
Every boat is backed up automatically every night, and we keep 30 days of backups. Encrypting them with a key held off the server is being switched on.
Notifications
Push notifications travel through Apple and Google without any content. The app fetches the text itself, only for a signed-in device.
No tracking
No advertising, no analytics, no tracking scripts in the app or on this site. We never sell your data. It reaches only the providers we need to run the service, listed in our privacy policy.
Taking it with you
Owners can export their accounts at any time (spreadsheet, CSV and receipts). On request we hand over a full copy of the boat's data, and when you leave we delete it.
